On a scale from 1 to 10, where is your constant stress level? Now, on the same scale, where is your Peak Stress Level? We can see that the constant stress level will occur everywhere you go.
But what about the Peak Stress level?
Is it at home or at work? If it is at home, there are problems that need to be addressed. Talk with, not to, your Spouse. Find a middle ground and talk about how the stress has been affecting you and what you have seen going on with them as well. It is a way to find a common ground.
If your Peak Stress Level occurs at work, there is a simple, but hard to accept fix. Change it. Find another Company where the stress level will at least be reduced or, if this is the solution, find something that will not create such high stress for you.
The constant stress level is usually attached to a lack or complete absence of something you feel you need in your life, something that will drain the stress away from you completely.
If only you could.....
Golf, go sailing, hike in the mountains, sculpt, paint, fly a kite.
But let's keep our head on straight about this. Those are diversions. They are releases but still diversions. The constant stress level rises when diversions are not available, like, in Winter as an example.
Sometimes a constant stress level can become the Peak Stress Level. Not good.
To alleviate that, it is best to sit down and take stock of what is really important to you. As a base line, can you say, in all truthfulness, "I want this job, I do not need it." If the answer is positive, your attitude toward your job is healthy. If it is not, again, something has to change.
When I work with a new person, going through this exercise can be very enlightening. It is supposed to be. Not checking in with your stress levels from time to time can be as deadly as a heart attack. Stress is the main case of heart attacks, but you knew that.
So, to those who have never done a Stress Evaluation before, now is the time.

Though I started with ACN six years ago, I have been involved with Network Marketing for most of my life, since the 70's. Over that time, I have worked under numerous Compensation Plans, built Teams, moved on.
But what is the result? Honest? Every day I start over. And that has bugged me. There has to be a better way.
In addition, two years ago, I discovered a statistic about the Industry that I really did not like. Seventy percent of new Network Marketers quit in their first year. Just imagine the time, expense and relationships lost, EVERY SINGLE YEAR???
Think of it. You are in business to walk away from 28 of every 40 hours you put in. If you put in 100 hours, 70 hours of your work is going down the drain. It is the same for any cash you put into it like hand outs and samples, 70% in the trash.
And what about relationships? I know no one who would accept making and losing 7 out of 10 people in their lives, every year. There is no upside to that. Because when you lose one person, it is like you did not do enough to keep that relationship going.
How can anyone work in that kind of environment? Not me.
I had to make it better. I have complete confidence in Network Marketing but it must be done right. A Plan must be standardized so that new Network Marketers have the best chance at success.

Two years and researching nearly 60 Network Marketing Companies and I had the answers.
1) Training is not the best attribute for most companies. A lot have none and depend on Sponsors to take the responsibility to ensure training is completed, if available. Otherwise, sponsors have Carte Blanche and can provide whatever they wish to get the numbers. The problem with this is that even if you had a great trainer running the Team, duplication fails and so does the Team. Growth stagnates and the Team diminishes. Why stick around if you are not making enough to cover the cost of business?
2) Strategy is key. Any Company who is not paying Bonuses that are Customer-centric, stay away. A healthy Company will not promote team building without Customer Acquisition.
So many are believing that they can get rich quick with online plans. They are all based on finding people to sign up, join your Team. This kind of system is doomed to fail.
When I applied my new strategy to my own Company, I discovered that a medium level position can be attained with 12 rather than 100 people. The change is twofold. You must acquire commitment from new people to become true Team Members, do the training that is given and apply it. Work together to attain individual goals. The goal is to get that new person making money every month by maxing out the commission rate, even if it means that Team Members help acquire those Customers. I call it the Training Period.
In addition, I discovered that a certain third party trainer was responsible for training some of our top executives as far back as 20 years ago. Exposing the new folks to this system is the final step. Minimizing Training Cost is always uppermost. I provide the Training Book free to my personally sponsored Team Members. The benefits far out-weigh the cost.
3) Finally, consider very carefully the product(s) / service(s) being offered by any Company that you are considering working with. What will provide the largest market for you?
Remember, health and cosmetic products have a limited and fickle market. Customer Acquisition will be an ongoing thing. There are options out there where only a handful of Customers need to be maintained to qualify for the top commissions. Things that everyone use all the time and pay for every month no matter what the economy is doing is what you are looking for. It just makes sense.

2) It is a popular belief that Network Marketing has no organization, code of ethics, decent training. My answer is, 1) Wrong, 2) Wrong.
When researching any Network marketing Company, the first thing to do is see if they are members of the Direct Selling Association (DSA). I have found that the companies that are in it for the long run are members. The new companies and the not so, shall we say, forthright, seem to avoid membership.
Why? The DSA has a Code of Ethics;
It consists of about 20 pages of reading but every member of the DSA is bound as a Corporation to this Code. We, as Independent Business Owners can lose the message. I must be honest.
But not me, not my Team.
We stand for the professionalism that the work deserves, serving the public, offering something other than the, "Get a job, keep a job," paradigm. Listen to what Robert Kiyosaki thinks of going to school then getting a job etc.
Training is essential. Our Company has a tome they enjoy. "We offer a personal improvement Program with a compensation package attached." But that is only where iot starts.
When I did my research on nearly 60 Network Marketing companies that took 2 years to complete, one thing I discovered was there is a huge lack of proper training. I discovered that many of our Company's Senior members were trained by Eric Worre over 20 years ago, I knew I found the right, "third party trainer." He can be found at;

The question is a simple one but sometimes, people do not seem to care who they are working with. If the business will reap a profit, what else matters? Rather than going into the question too deeply, it is more important to set down some guidelines for doing business with integrity. There are millions of business scenarios. In any business you have control of only one thing, you. If a deal falls through because of something that was not done, it will fall on one side of the deal or the other. There are times when an outside source of trouble may come in but normally, it will be the buyer and the seller. What about partnering with someone? What do you look for in a partner? The obvious attributes will likely fall into a list like this;
Demonstrates integrity Shows business and / or technical ability
Has a strong track record
Willingness to Mentor
Are these attributes that your potential partner would look for in you as well? When someone approaches you to partner with you, it is wise to be cautious but it is also of great value to begin a conversation, get to know this person, and allow them to get to know you. We do this all the time here on LinkedIn. It is this exposure to new people and ideas that can lead to something new, something with a great potential for success. First, to put things in context, my life's work is to help people, help them to see the ways to make their lives better and guide them down that path to where they can simply do what they want with their lives.
Second, I have membership in a couple of sites where it is a normal activity to meet people from all over the world. On those sites, I have a few ways to meet people and invite them to join my Network. But recently, I have discovered that some people are leaving the Network, and it is due to unfair and erroneous reports about the Company I work with.
ACN has worked through the Network marketing Business Plan for over 20 years. In that time, yes, there have been problems, created by Independent Business Owners and ACN had to deal with the legal fallout. From those issues, they learned how to build a stronger Company and made the business better for the Independent Business Owners as well.
The problem is that many who leave the business do so within a few months of starting. These people do not stay around long enough to learn the right way to do the business. These are the folks that make the list taht they were asked to do and then, without going any further in their training, get on the phone and start talking about what they are doing in a new business.
Then they start getting negative responses from people about the company. They, themselves, have likely never had an ACN service or have ever seen the Business Presentation, let alone had their own ACN business but they are rock solid with their advice to get out of that business before you lose your house. They know ten people that did lose everything.
The problem is that, as I mentioned earlier, the business owner has not trained before talking to anyone so they not only do not know what to say but they also do not know how to address objections.
Sadly, in addition, it is human nature to blame anything but yourself when you fail. With all of this, it is not a surprise that so many make false spam and scam reports. The biggest problem is that people read those reports and believe them. And that is not of benefit to anyone. Lies never are.
So, the next time you hear from someone from ACN, ask them about the business. Ask if you can see the presentation. It is one of the best programs out there and it is not as expensive as so many franchises. Or, if you care to enter into a business conversation, you may contact me PM me.
As so many vie for position in all Industry Sectors, only one, is head over heels above the rest. The movie industry, the Music Industry, none compare. And when you look at these Sectors, none are without their controversy.
What is it?
Yes, as with any Sector, there are good and bad companies and everything in between. But let us look at the reason for this proliferation. Why is Network marketing so successful and prevalent?
The World Economy is weak. We have many challenges to ensure that everyone on the Planet are fed. And we are not doing a very good job of it, are we? So many have yet to learn that as we give of ourselves, so much more is made better.
Why is it that there are so many people who have had bad experiences? Integrity, or, rather, Corporate Integrity. I have been in this field for decades and have worked with a half dozen companies and I have discovered a couple of things along the way. The biggest and the oldest does not mean they are the best, far from it. Meteoric growth also does not mean there is any integrity in the corporate plan.
Also, over this time, I have learned some valuable lessons. If you are going to work with a network marketing company, their business plan must not only make sense, it must be transparent. This does not mean that the newest people can have a say in potential changes / improvements into the business but at some more experienced level, there is a corporate mechanism to constantly look at the Market and see what can be improved.
What about the commodity?
Many companies use the network marketing mechanism as they may likely not be able to market it in any other way. RED FLAG!!! Also, a single commodity company is extremely limiting. A diverse offering is so very important. Then, no matter what your Customer's mind set, you always have something to offer. But, let us look even deeper at offerings.
Who do you know that does not use electricity? Who does not have a phone. Aside from a lot of Seniors in your life, who does not use the internet, or have a cell phone? These are the commodities that most everyone use and pay for every month. Yes, most everyone buys shampoo and laundry soap but look at the established competition. As an example, one company I worked with sold a concentrated laundry soap. It did not have any fillers and it worked great, but, because it was only soap, and they were selling their product with the network marketing plan, they had a bunch of people who were due a commission so the cost of the soap was inflated to an incredible level.
There are many variations and companies available and one of the most important issues to investigate, outside of the product / service offerings are the Compensation Plan and the Training Program.
The Compensation Plan is important. How does it look overall? Who gets paid the most, “per Customer?” It is natural for the most senior person to be paid more than the last person to join but is there a chance for that new person to surpass the senior person? Yes or no, no middle ground on this one.
The Training Program needs to be completely comprehensive. It is natural that you need training on the products / services. Some may require licencing. Actually, if you are required to train and achieve a licence, this may be a good indication that the Company is dealing with a high level of integrity, but not always. Keep your head up and your eyes open.
Now, let us look at why so many get into a network marketing business and then quit.
One thing that most of the companies do that use network marketing to flog their wares is hype their, “system to success.” If you get someone in front of the presentation, the odds are good that they will succeed in getting them signed up. Now comes the time when the sponsoring person needs to take the new person under their wing and train them.
Some, however, are not coachable and they take off doing what they think they should be doing instead of listening to their sponsor / coach and learn what should be done. Activity variations are fine but need to be compared to a proven system that has a track record. Sadly, most who fail and quit do so fairly quickly after starting. And this is the worst thing they could do. Nothing is learned and they leave feeling bitter and cheated, when they are responsible for not following few if any instructions when they first began. And it is quite easy to find this ugly side of the business when doing your research, no matter which company is involved.
So, those who are reachable, and you can convince them of their errors, are retrievable. Many will not be and you must let them go. The best way to combat this is to ensure that they are fully aware of what is going to be required of them to achieve success before the commit. Work with them until they have money coming in making it impossible for them to quit, then help them build a strong organization, based on the exact same, repeatable principles and training.

December 21, 2013 by Michelle Hogan In the Home Based Business world, many are not successful. There are many reasons for this. Some are in the control of the individual who gets involved and some are not in their control, well, not so much.
So, let’s all take a look at this issue in depth. And as much as I can, I will give of my personal experience on this.
Consider a friend that I had mentioned an opportunity to. It was a topic for discussion because of my personal involvement but pressure was little to non-existent in getting a sign up. Then, one day, he wanted to move forward. We set up a time to meet and get started. At that meeting, there were four of us, me, my Sponsor, my friend and the Spouse. I am not going to identify anyone in any way here.
After we had discussed the business extensively, we came to the decision that it would be best for the Spouse to start and once we had the business going, my friend could join up and we could then get that business going.
We had started things the right way and had set a time for the next meeting so we could begin training. The next day, my friend called me and wanted to start right away as well. I attempted to solidify the Plan we had discussed just 24 hours earlier but this deviation was being insisted upon. Now, we had doubled our need for the next step, training.
But this was where things began to deviate. The training never happened. We did attempt, several times, to reset the time for training but my friend started making calls, without the benefit of the training necessary to handle problems. Then, reports came to me of family alienation, being called crazy, things that the training may have been able to help with responses. Training is essential.
There were other actions taken that they would have learned, in training, not to do, but they did, and because of all these errors, they were willing to regroup and learn the right way to do things.
Then, we experienced another 180 degree shift. My friend started looking online and finding others who had failed and to justify their failures, began calling the Company they had signed up with as scams, pyramids etc. Sadly, this is human nature to blame something other than ourselves when we fail. Our egos cannot continue to exist by admitting the guilt of our own personal failings or character flaws.
A second case showed a professional who had done extensive research on the Company before deciding to sign up and get started with us. We laid out the Plan of what had to be learned in training and if it was not the time where training time can be set aside to get started, then we can postpone the sign up. No, let’s sign up and get started. Then, you guessed it. There is suddenly no time to train before getting started. A lot of time has passed, no training. The business has been sitting, no input means no profits. Nothing, except the loss of the initial fee.
Starting a Home Based Business for yourself is not a decision that should be made using your emotions. It is business and THAT is the reason for most business failures like this.
If you are considering starting a Home Based Business, then make absolutely sure that the business you sign up with is the one that you are going to move heaven and earth to build to success for you, success by your personal definition, whatever it may be.
While we are here, let’s look at a number of different types of Companies and their viability. Admittedly there are Companies out there that should not exist. Personally I cannot see why anyone would commit their blood, sweat and tears to push a shake or cosmetics. I cannot see why you would join a company that deals only in electricity or cell phones. Find a good Company, with a comprehensive offering that everyone uses. Shop for a Sponsor. You do not have to sign up with some hyped up dude that you have no confidence in.
I started with a Company when I should not have, Visalus or Body by Vi. They get you to do their “90 Day Challenge” by using their products and seeing how much weight you can lose in a 90 day period. That will then become “your story toward success.” The problem with this system is you do the Challenge after you sign up. You can demand a full refund up to 60 days after sign up. But you have to go another 30 days to see the results of the Challenge. I lost 10 lb in 90 days. Now, the Company is having a lot of troubles, mostly with Health Canada and, I have heard that some people are having liver function problems after using the Visalus products. For me, $1,000 down the drain. My bad. Not enough research. Not enough verification. I trusted my Sponsor rather than do the research.
Do it, do it, do it, and then research some more. If you get sick of research, you may not be the right fit for having a Home Based Business.
My final point is that these failures constantly attack the Company for their failures. In my case, the sign ups that I have described have suffered for the exact same reason, not a lack of research before sign up but a refusal to do the training, free training before starting to approach potential Customers and Partners.
Some folks need to grow up, get a spine and take responsibility for their own losses, failures. How can anyone expect to build a house when they refuse to pick up a hammer or a saw?

You have started a brand new Home Based Business, now what? If it is product based, you have a lot of work to do. Place your first stocking order, or at least arrange to pay for it up front, including shipping. And, can you accept a pallet loaded with boxes full of what you are going to have to sell? No? You do not have a lift truck or a loading dock on the end of your ranch style bungalow? That is ok. As long as you have a couple of good strong backs to help the Truck Driver hand bomb the stuff off the truck, we will get rid of the pallet for you. No cost.
Do you have space set up for incoming and outgoing product? Ya, the Courier will only pick up after 2 PM, otherwise you are going to have to load it into your car and drive it to their depot.
Your Sponsor has not gone over any of this with you? No surprise. He is likely doing all of that stuff for his own operation right now. But I am sure he will get to you so you can go through the Training Program. There is no Training?
This is the exact point where Companies and Sponsors lose their credibility and you, no training. There is no path to success. You are pointed in a single direction and told to, “Go forth and prosper.” Some can do that, but not many. Some will make a go of it and most will look at the piles of product in their garage or basement and then go find anything they can do other than make calls, get sales and put some money in their bank account, to pay for that product.
A couple of months may go by and your sponsor calls. He noticed through his online reports that you have not been selling much and is wondering why. You tactfully state that you have been out pounding the beat and talking to tons of people and you have some great prospects all lined up just waiting for their paychecks to come in next week. Sadly, your Sponsor is satisfied with your response and gives you an, “Atta boy,” and hangs up.
He may call again. You may go through this dance for a year. Then he stops calling and your Renewal comes in the mail. There you sit. No sales, no new people in your, um organization of one (you). You let the renewal slide and a few months later, you realize that all you have to do to get out of this mess is figure out how to make all that product you bought disappear.
I offer this comment as advice. You may be stuck with that product for years.
How can you ensure that this does not become your story? How can you know that you are signing up with, “the right company?” The truth is that many people are exposed to the best marketers the company has to present the business opportunity. They see it and they sign up. Done. This is a fatal error for at least 90% of people who get into a home based business.
If you want to start a home based business, begin with proper study. Start by evaluating yourself;
1) Do I have the skill set to work on my own?
2) Do I have sufficient contacts to be able to make any business succeed?
3) Do I have the funds to start a business?
4) Whay type of business am I best suited to?
5) Will I stick it out?
The last question is likely the most important one. All have their merits and are essential but if you cannot answer the last one positively, then, the rest do not really matter.
Now, let me put the Sponsor cap on for a while. As a Sponsor, it is essential that I find, (recruit), new people into the business, into my organization.If I do not take, “Ownership,” of my group, then I will never succeed. If I do not take ownership of my people in my group, they will never succeed. All you have built is a house of cards and a means by which you will not make a lot of friends.
It is insane for this to happen because the answer is simple; 1) You are a business owner. Take charge and take responsibility.
2) When discussing the business opportunity, ensure that the prospect is someone you know you can work with.
3) Also make sure that you are signing some one on who is going to follow through.
4) Train your new people. Do not just go through the motions. Stick with them and give them as much knowledge as you can, all the time, until you know they are able to continue and succeed on their own.
5) Bi-monthly calls will not get it done. Communicate and make sure your new people are comfortable calling you and meeting with you regularly until they know what they are doing.
The answer, truly, is, “Focus,” and where you put it. Focus on the wrong things and you will never succeed. Focus on your people and do what you have to do to give them the best example to follow,
When you are working with a Supplying Company, and there are many of them out there, remember that their quality may be very high, and that is the hook they use to justify a higher price. In return, the extra pays for your efforts, and if they require a minimum stocking order, you get to be their warehouse too.
So, when working with any Supplying Company, you may want to consider these points and look to companies that work without you having to touch the product. Oh, but wait. Even if they do all the work and ship it as well, your Customer is still going to have the cost of that shipping to handle on their own. Still not the best of all worlds.

Economic projections for 2014 and 2015 are abysmal. In the last two decades, they have come a long way from offering long distance for 9.9 cents a minute, (when everyone else was offering it at 10.0 cents a minute), and only in the USA to now, in 23 countries and offering both analog and digital phone, local and long distance, Business Phone Service, Internet, Energy (Gas, Electricity and Hot Water Heaters in growing markets), Computer Support. On top of all this, we are Agents for most of the Cell Phone and Cable and Dish TV and Security Corporations. And we depend on the Independent Home Based Business Owner.

What if there was a way to realize a residual from the business others are doing, especially during this expansion? You just help them get themselves set up, and NOT financially, even though it is minimal. Just learn the System and pass it on, help them duplicate the same system I will show you.

The job or family jobs are not enough to keep them going. Though there are many types of home based businesses, the ones with greatest potential not only draw on the law of attraction but also the law of duplication. These are the laws that have made rich people rich and successful people successful.
The problem with the Law of Duplication is that you need to find people and the first line of people you know are your friends and family. And there are so many stories of folks getting into home based businesses like this and end up alienating their friends and family. Now there are many reasons why people will fail in this type of approach. But the main reason is their lack of training on how to make the proper introduction to friends and family. They will have all kinds of enthusiasm but those friends and those family members are extremely cautious.
So, what if there was a way of working with the Law of Duplication without having to involve your friends or family members? The Law of Duplication has a number of excellent attributes. And honestly, fortunes of any great significance are never going to be made by yourself.
You may believe that it’s impossible to find strangers that may be willing to work with you in your home based business but quite honestly the opposite is true. Using a couple of intelligent methods, it is possible to focus your search specifically to the kind of people you want to work with. In the fast track option, you do not have to learn about SEO, (search engine optimization), or Google Adwords, not right away. But, even though you can have the work done for you, you will learn to be able to continue your new, “people engine,” completely and confidently, on your own.

The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the destruction left behind has accelerated this issue for the residents of North East USA. We only have to look at the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina (New Orleans in particular), to see that lives have been forever changed, and not for the better.
President Obama has come right out on cue to tell the world that the Government will take care of them. Past history tells us it will be decades before it will all be repaired.
So, are you waiting for your disaster to befall you and guide you down that hole to oblivion? Or do you want to ensure that you will have a bright, safe and fruitful future?
Where Are You Now? Economically, and historically, we have never been in such deep debt as now. Credit Card debt MUST be slashed or eliminated. Why? When recessions hit, they bring higher interest rates. Do what you can to minimize mortgage increases. And, I know, it sounds impossible to save anything these days but you do need to succeed with this one too.
Now, what are you willing to do about it?
What Are My Options? Do you want the good news or the bad news? The good news is there are two choices, take action or do nothing.
Consider this; Wells Fargo Securities predicts this,”unemployment rate declines to 7.6% by end of 2012 (Christmas Rush), before rising to 8.1% by the third quarter of 2013, finishing 2013 at 8% and declining to 7.5% by the end of 2014.”The outlook for next year and into 2014 is more of the same but worse. If your Company has any trouble they are fighting right now, It will get worse next year.
So far, they are right on the money.
But to be forewarned is to be forearmed. If you intend to weather this very long economic storm, you need to make a plan and put it into action. It would be nice to be able to fall back on your desires, find something that matches you. One question. How long have you got, money wise, in the bank, before you are, God forbid, out on the street? Yes, one of the hardest questions you can face. But, if you do face it, prepare properly and take action as far in advance as possible, the potential for weathering this economic storm are more than good.
If you look at a pay increase at work, it will put you at the top of the heap when the time comes to, “trim the fat.” Dump that one. If it come to that, you are in a better position if you have not had a raise in a long time. To keep your job, you may consider offering to work for less if you are in the boss’s office one day, wondering why you are there.
If you look at taking a second job, it is likely that it will pay very low wages, trading your valuable time for peanuts, so to speak. It is an option but you likely do not want to do that for very long.
The home based business makes sense. Choice is important. It is amazing how many do not think of this. If you are looking to sell something, try not to inventory stock. That represents cash sitting in your basement or garage. We do not want you to end up like me for instance. I still have some NSA Water filters here since the 80′s, Argh! But, now you can learn from my mistakes. That was just one of them.
Remember, if you are going to start a home based business, selling a product or service, make sure it is not only something that you do not have to inventory, but you use a lot, and if you use it a lot, I expect everyone is going to use it a lot too. Now, there is another reason for this. If you are offering a popular thing, and using that same thing every day, you are going to buy from yourself first, right? Of course you are. And if you are doing that, you can bill its use as a sales expense.
What are the best companies to work with? Well, we are getting ahead of ourselves a bit. You need a Customer list and you do not want to be crawling to everyone you know begging them to sign up for this or that. We know where that leads, NS-NF, “No Sales – No Friends.” But fear not. There is a system that you can plug into and fill your needs for Customers and the investment is extremely low.
There are companies like 5Linx, Visalus and ACN but we must discuss the means by which you will do your reseasrch, investigate each potential for the best training, mentorship and compensation plan.
